Miami Valley Sand reopened indoors last week after Ohio’s COVID-19 restrictions on dine-in restaurants and bars were lifted. It should get a temporary certificate of occupancy to open the rest of the complex today, General Manager Mark Feathers said.

It features 17 sand volleyball courts as part of the an 82,000 square foot indoor/outdoor facility. Miami Valley Sand opened earlier this year on 6.6 acres at 200 W. Central Ave.

Feathers said more work needs to be done to have the outdoor bar opened for service, but food and drinks can be ordered indoors and taken outside once the temporary certificate of occupancy has been approved.

Then “I can start letting people sit out there, drink and eat,” Feathers said.

He said it will likely be next week before “we get a final inspection from the health department and then I can start serving” outdoors.

Those outside will be limited to groups of 10 or fewer and be required to follow social distancing guidelines, Feathers said.
