KC Current championship bound after semifinal victory

The Kansas City Current’s magical season continues. The professional soccer team is headed to the NWSL Championship after defeating the top-seeded OL Reign Sunday night in a shutout.In a dominant performance, the team easily played its way to a 2-0 victory. The Current is going to the title game off of just the second playoff win in franchise history. 2022 also marked the Current’s playoff berth.Defender Alex Loera scored the team’s first goal in the fourth minute. It was Loera’s first goal in her professional career.Forward Kristen Hamilton put the Current up 2-0 with what would ultimately be the team’s final goal. The match closed out with just five minutes of stoppage time.Kansas City has been going all in for the team in recent weeks.
