NASCAR championship week is here! The final four drivers in each of the three top series — Cup, Xfinity and Camping World Trucks — will battle this weekend at Phoenix Raceway to settle the 2022 titles. Here’s what to know about the best weekend in stock car racing:
When are the championship races at Phoenix Raceway?
The weekend starts at 7 p.m. MST Friday with the Trucks series finale, the Lucas Oil 150. On Saturday, the Xfinity championship race starts at 3 p.m. MST, and the Cup title race is set for 1 p.m. MST Sunday.
How can I see championship racing at Phoenix Raceway?
In person: Sunday grandstand seats are sold out at the track in Avondale, but a limited number of standing-room-only tickets remain inside the FanShield Infield Experience.
Those in attendance on Sunday will also see a concert by country star Jon Pardi.

On TV: Friday’s Trucks race will be shown by FS1, Saturday’s Xfinity race will be aired by USA Network, and the Cup finale on Sunday is being broadcast by NBC.
Which drivers are competing for NASCAR Cup Series title?
The Final Four was settled Oct. 30 at Martinsville when Ross Chastain made a bold final-lap gamble pay off, zooming from 10th in the field all the way up to 5th. That was good enough to secure him a finalist spot along with Christopher Bell, who won the Martinsville race; Joey Logano, the 2018 champion; and Chase Elliott, who won in 2020.
Bell crossed the finish line just ahead of Denny Hamlin to eliminate the three-time Daytona 500 champion.
What happened to 2021 NASCAR champion Kyle Larson?
Larson never made it out of the Round of 12 elimination stage, finishing 35th on the Charlotte Motor Speedway road course on Oct. 9. He was five laps down when the checkered flag waved, and ended two points behind Chase Briscoe, who was the final driver to advance in that round.
At Martinsville, Bell passed Briscoe, who also needed to win to advance to the championship, with five laps to go to earn the automatic berth. Bell’s win beat the odds, because he came into the semifinal race eighth among the drivers still in the hunt as a result of being caught up in Bubba Wallace’s retaliation of Larson at Las Vegas two weeks ago.

What’s the format for the NASCAR finale at Phoenix Raceway?
It’s simple: The driver among the Final Four who crosses the finish line first wins the Bill France Cup and becomes the 2022 NASCAR Cup Series champion.
That means a driver outside the Final Four could actually win the race, but that has not happened in the two previous years the championship was settled at Phoenix Raceway.
