Tokyo Olympian holds swimming clinic

The Negros Occidental Golf and Country Club Swimming Team, together with Philippine Swimming Inc. (PSI), recently hosted 2022 Tokyo Olympian Remedy Alexis Rule on November 27.

Rule came to Bacolod City to conduct a one-day swimming clinic dubbed “Rule the pool with Remedy” for PSI-registered swimmers and clubs as her way of giving back to the sport that she loves.

Different clubs from Bacolod and Iloilo City participated in the event, with a total of 80 Swimmers with coaches coming from the Visayas Region.

Remedy has competed internationally representing the Philippines in the World Aquatics Championships, the 2019 SEA Games and the 2022 Tokyo Olympics, where she ranked 15th in the 200-meter butterfly event.

While representing the country, Remedy won a pair of silver and three bronze medals in the 2019 Southeast Asian Games and set a national record of 2:09.58 in the 200m fly in the 2020 TYR Pro Swim Series in Des Moines, Iowa.

During the clinic, Remedy shared her personal experiences in training, competitions and dealing with adversities.  During a pool session, she shared and showed the swimmers and coaches different swimming drills and techniques that she uses. She also gave some tips and advice to the swimmers and coaches on how to become better and improve further.
