Cori Gauff reveals Rafael Nadal would be the quarterback of her NFL team as she feels the Spaniard knows how to “make the right play at the right time.” Over the weekend, Gauff was in Miami for the Miami Dolphins and Houston Texans game.

Gauff, a Dolphins fan, witnessed her favorite team defeating the Texans 30-15. When asked to make an NFL team consisting of tennis players, Gauff revealed Nadal, Nick Kyrgios, Frances Tiafoe.

Gauff picks Nadal, Kyrgios

“I don’t know if I can name enough for a whole team, but I’ll do like the main positions.

Quarterback, I’m gonna go with Rafael Nadal, because I feel like he makes the right plays at the right time. Who else would I add on my team for team? I’m gonna go with Nick Kyrgios. I have never see him throw a football or like running a football, so I don’t know.

But now I think we need a big guy, tennis doesn’t have big bodies, but I’m go with Frances Tiafoe. In the end, I think I need somebody that’s gonna like, keep me calm, because I’m not gonna be on the field, I’m gonna be the coach.

So I think I’m gonna go to Caty McNally to do that,” Gauff said in a video for the Miami Open.

Meanwhile, Gauff is enjoying some rest following after a very long and demanding 2022 season.

This year, Gauff made some notable results as she reached her first Grand Slam final at the French Open before losing to Iga Swiatek. Also, Gauff broke into the top-10 for the first time in her career this year and achieved a career-high ranking of No 4 in the world.

In 2023, Gauff will be hoping to continue her rise and become a Grand Slam champion. Already in August, Gauff confirmed she would start her 2023 season in early January at the ASB Classic in Auckland. It remains to be seen if Gauff can kick off her 2023 season with a victory in Auckland.
