Darcy Cameron is expected to lead the ruck in 2023 with support from Mason Cox.

But the only other recognised ruckman on the Pies’ list are 20-year-old Aiden Begg, who played three games in 2022, and international rookie Bassirou Faye.

They also have former Crow Billy Frampton (200cm) on their list after trading a future third-round selection for the versatile tall.

Guehrer announced his retirement from beach volleyball five weeks ago and teased on Instagram “a new challenge awaits.”

He was a member of the Australian team who won the Asian Continental Cup in 2021 and played an important role in securing qualification for the Olympics, although he didn’t get to compete in Tokyo.

Other career highlights include a bronze medal at the Asian Beach Volleyball Championships and two more bronze medals on the FIVB Pro Tour.

He was also captain of Australia’s four-a-side team in the Qatar at the inaugural World Beach Games.

Meanwhile, Collingwood will be keeping a close eye on its emerging superstar Nick Daicos.

Daicos was seen limping during a pre-season session on Friday and was in clear discomfort, leaving the field and clutching at his leg.

He received assistance on the sidelines with an issue that appeared to be behind his knee.

Daicos has put on more size and muscle since Collingwood’s brutal end to the 2022 season, and recently won a club time trial.

He took the competition by storm in 2022 and won the AFL’s Rising Star award in a canter.
