Gervonta Davis vs. Hector Luis Garcia purse, salaries: How much money will they

Before Gervonta Davis attempts to take down Ryan Garcia in a potential April 2023 clash, he must defend his WBA (Regular) lightweight title against the game Hector Luis Garcia on January 7. The fight takes place inside the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C.

Davis won the lightweight title against Yuriorkis Gamboa in 2019. He defended the title against Leo Santa Cruz in October 2020 via knockout, winning the WBA (Super) super-featherweight title in the process. The 28-year-old has since defended the lightweight title successfully against Isaac Cruz and Rolando Romero, with the Romero fight back in May.

“Tank,” a Maryland native, made his pro debut in Washington. He last fought in Washington in 2016, beating Guillermo Avila via TKO.

“It feels good to be back home,” Davis stated. “All the greats have fought here and now I get to come back home and put on a great event. I love getting everyone together to have a party. That’s what it is. We grind in the gym, and a lot of people don’t see that, so when the big event comes, it’s time to show up.”

Garcia knows a thing or two about upsets. He beat top prospect Chris Colbert back in February, ending his undefeated streak. In August, he returned and beat Roger Gutierrez for the WBA super-flyweight title.

“We’re coming to make this a battle,” Garcia stated. “Whether it’s toe-to-toe or he wants to move and box, me and my trainer are ready. We trust each other and that goes a long way in fights like these. “I want to make my name in this sport and make it last a lot longer after I’m around. I’m taking it one fight at a time, but I have big goals that I’m looking to reach.”

Here’s how much the two fighters are set to earn in this lightweight clash.
