Uncasville, CT – DeWanna Bonner and CBK Mersin picked up their third straight EuroLeague win on Wednesday, January 4 over Perfumerias Avenida, 85-80. Bonner led her team with 21 points, four rebounds, two assists, one steal and three blocks. On Saturday, January 7, Bonner and CBK Mersin defeated Turkish League rival, Fenerbahce, 77-68. Bonner finished with 19 points, five rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block.

Alyssa Thomas, Brionna Jones and USK Prague defeated Szekszard, 95-56, in their EuroLeague contest of the week on Wednesday, January 4. Thomas led the way with 20 points, seven rebounds and 10 assists. Jones added a double-double of her own, tallying 19 points, 10 rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block, as USK Prague moves to 6-2 in EuroLeague action. On Friday, January 6, Thomas, Jones and USK Prague picked up another win, this time over Czech League opponent, Ostrava, 102-38. Jones finished with another double-double, notching 28 points, 10 rebounds, four assists, five steals and one block. Thomas filled the stat sheet with seven points, nine rebounds, four assists and four steals.

Joyner Holmes and Sassari were victorious in Game 1 in the first round of the EuroCup playoffs against Italian League foe, Venezia, 89-82. Holmes led Sassari with 22 points, eight rebounds, five assists and two steals. On Saturday, January 7, Holmes and Sassari defeated Italian League opponent, Valdarno, 89-75. Holmes notched a triple-double in the win, tallying 16 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists and one steal.

Connecticut Sun players are back in overseas action this week beginning with Natisha Hiedeman and Maccabi Ashdod facing off against Maccabi Haifa at 12:00 PM ET on January 9. Thomas, Jones and USK Prague take on Valencia at 1:00 PM ET on January 11. On January 12, Bonner and CBK Mersin play Sopron at 12:00 PM ET; and Holmes and Sassari match up against Venezia at 1:30 PM ET. Jones, Thomas and USK Prague play Slovanka at 11:00 AM ET on January 14. To close out the week, Bonner and CBK Mersin take on Botas at 7:30 AM ET; and Holmes and Sassari play Lucca at 12:00 PM ET on January 15.
