The two players involved in an argument at the team hotel after a night out in Mudgee have been revealed as the Dragons confirm they are investigating “unacceptable behaviour.”

The Sydney Morning Herald reports the players were winger Mikaele Ravalawa and new recruit Zane Musgrove.

St George Illawarra were thumped 42-24 by the Rabbitohs in the Charity Shield, but players were given the green light to head out afterwards.

The players were reportedly well behaved out on the town but there was an issue when they returned to their accommodation when a “heated exchange” needed to be broken up by teammates.

“The Dragons are aware of a verbal argument that took place between two players at the team hotel on Sunday morning,” the club said in a statement on Monday night.

“The club regards this behaviour as unacceptable and will now determine whether any disciplinary action is warranted.

“The club will make no further comment at this time.”

Musgrove is only a few months into his two-year deal with the Dragons and has been involved in previous off-field incidents.

He plead guilty to driving while his licence was suspended last year and in January, 2021, he was arrested and fined for allegedly disobeying move-on orders at Coogee Bay Hotel.

Danny Weidler first reported the incident on Nine News on Monday night.

“The club allowed them to have a night out, that was pre-scheduled, they were fine on their night out according to my sources,” Weidler said.

“But when they got back to their team hotel, The Winning Post in Mudgee, that’s where a heated exchange, it’s been described to me, took place between two players and other players and other people at the Dragons had to step in to sort out the situation.

“The Dragons are insisting there were no punches thrown between the players but it was definitely a heated exchange and that the behaviour of the players, according to the Dragons, does not meet their club standards and they’re going to be looking further into it.”

The two players had been out drinking and then back at their hotel room they got in an argument which spilt outside, according to the SMH.

The scuffle reportedly woke up teammates who had to intervene and separate the pair, but no punches were thrown.

Club officials spoke to the players about their behaviour on Sunday and they now face disciplinary action.
