Jannik Sinner feels he is actually better on hard than on clay

Jannik Sinner reveals he actually believes he is stronger on hard courts than he is on the clay. Since February, Sinner has been playing extremely well. In February, Sinner won Montpellier and finished as runner-up in Rotterdam.
During the Sunshine Double, Sinner reached the Indian Wells Masters semifinal before finishing as runner-up at the Miami Masters. Sinner does not have much time to rest as he is set to kick off his clay season at the Monte Carlo Masters, which starts on April 9th.
Sinner: I think I’m stronger on hard than I’m on clay
“No, I think I’m stronger on hard court, to be honest, because when I was very young I always played on hard courts, especially indoors, because where I’m from there is a lot of snow.
For sure in the last years, I played well also on the clay, that’s for sure, but I think my game suits a little bit better on hard court. That’s it. But I made good results also on clay, yeah. I started also very well last year making quarters in Monte-Carlo.
Lost 7-6 in the third there also. So I’m very looking forward to it and know that I can improve also there. Last year I felt also quite well on the clay season, but, you know, in the beginning it’s always tough when you don’t have a lot of time to adapt.
It’s gonna be a very interesting week,” Sinner said. In Monte Carlo, Sinner is set to make his third appearance. Sinner made his Monte Carlo debut in 2021, when he was beaten by Novak Djokovic in the second round. Last year, Sinner reached the Monte Carlo quarterfinal before falling just short to Alexander Zverev in a three-set thriller.
It remains to be seen if Sinner can start his clay season in a strong way and make a really deep Monte Carlo run.
