Tigers will play Texas at neutral site
BATON ROUGE – LSU men’s basketball will play Texas in the H-Town Showdown event in Houston on Dec. 16, according to documents obtained by The Advertiser.
The Tigers have also agreed to face Lamar on Dec. 21 and participate in the 2023 Charleston Classic, according to documents obtained by The Advertiser.
The last time LSU faced Texas was on Jan. 25, 2020, when the Tigers defeated Texas in Austin, 69-67. LSU is 19-9 all-time against the Longhorns.
LSU (14-19) heads into Year 2 of Matt McMahon’s tenure after a tumultuous first season under his leadership. The Tigers had a 12-1 record, including an upset win over Arkansas, to begin their season but went on to lose 14 straight games.
