Oregon men’s basketball to play in Emerald Coast Classic

Oregon will play in the 2023 Emerald Coast Classic.

The Ducks will join Alabama, Ohio State and Santa Clara at the multi-team event, which will be played Nov. 24-25 at Northwest Florida State College’s Raider Arena in Niceville, Florida.

“We’re excited about the rich tradition of this year’s tournament field,” tournament director and CEO of Global Sports Maury Hanks said in a statement. “We continue to strive to bring the best college basketball teams possible to the Emerald Coast of Florida.”

Oregon guard Brennan Rigsby attended Northwest Florida State College, as did Oregon alum and 2021 first round draft pick Chris Duarte.

The Ducks are coming off a 21-16 season that ended in the NIT quarterfinals.

Alabama was the top overall seed in the NCAA Tournament after winning the SEC regular season and tournament titles and made it to the Sweet 16. Ohio State went 16-19 last season. Santa Clara went 23-10 and made an NIT appearance.

Tickets and television broadcast information will be announced this summer.
