FAYETTEVILLE — Saturday’s schedule has been delayed at the NCAA Fayetteville Regional due to weather.

The elimination game between Arizona and Santa Clara did not begin at 2 p.m. as originally scheduled. The gates at Baum-Walker Stadium are expected to open at 3:30 p.m. to allow entry for that game, but no start time has been determined.

At 3:15 p.m. the rain had let up but thunder was still rumbling in Fayetteville.

Any extended delay for that game is likely to affect the scheduled 8 p.m. start time for a game between Arkansas and TCU, which cannot begin until at least 55 minutes after the conclusion of the early game.

Thunderstorms have persisted in Fayetteville since late morning and more rain is possible into the evening hours. According to the National Weather Service, rain chances diminish as the day goes along.
