KNOXVILLE, Iowa — Carson Macedo was transported to a local hospital on Saturday night following an accident during the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series feature at Knoxville Raceway.
The Jason Johnson Racing driver drove straight into the wall between turns three and four, prompting the No. 41 to tumble end-over-end before coming to a rest.
Macedo climbed from his race car and was aided to an ambulance.
The 25-lap feature would continue after a red flag with David Gravel scoring the victory.
Upon conclusion of the feature, World of Outlaws released an update on social media.
After an accident tonight at Knoxville, Carson Macedo walked, with assistance, to the ambulance and was transported to a local hospital for further evaluation.
We will pass along more updates as they become available.
