Ashley Joens cut from WNBA roster
The Dallas Wings waived former Iowa State University guard Ashley Joens on Wednesday. Joens secured a second-round pick in the WNBA draft but only played in eight games averaging 1.7 minutes per game, 0.3 points and 0.3 rebounds per contest.Joens, who grew up in Iowa City, scored a school-record 3,060 points over five seasons with ISU.She also won the last three Cheryl Miller Awards which are given to college basketball’s top small forward.
