During a question and answer session, Wright posed a thought-provoking query to Chiles. She inquires which is worse, falling or never trying? Chiles candidly responded, “That hits two spots,” before sharing her personal perspective.

“I think for me it’s falling,” she admitted, reflecting on her experiences in Tokyo where she encountered falls in two events, leading her to declare it as the “worst feeling a girl could have.” Chiles further explained that for her, falling represents a sense of failure, whereas not trying implies a deliberate reason behind her hesitation. 

Wright, on the other hand, held a different viewpoint, considering the latter option to be more distressing. The podcast episode, released just six days ago, has already garnered over 700 views, offering a glimpse into the widespread interest in their discussion. The conversation revolved around a significant incident during the women’s gymnastics qualification in Tokyo.

According to Independent UK, it’s where then 20-year-old Chiles faced numerous challenges and ultimately experienced a disappointing fall on the balance beam. Despite having her own routine to focus on, Simone Biles approached Chiles, offering support and solidarity in a comforting display of camaraderie between teammates.

Chiles’s Tokyo Olympics journey, with Biles by her side, displayed resilience. Despite setbacks, she showcased her talent and secured a respectable position. Chiles garnered a score of 53.698, securing the 40th position, while Biles impressively earned 57.731, even with a slight landing error.
