Alex Marquez just like Nico Rosberg? ‘If I’m MotoGP champion, I’m going home’

In the history of the MotoGP World Championship, no world champion has ever retired from the competition after their first win. However, Alex Marquez guarantees he will do so if he ever wins the title – much like Nico Rosberg did in Formula 1 in 2016.

That’s what the Gresini spaniard said in an interview with Manuel Peccino: ‘I’ve always said that if I’m MotoGP world champion, I’m going home, I would have done everything here’.

Marquez admitted that, in any case, he has already exceeded his expectations in the career he has had: ‘Nevertheless, I have done much more than I imagined. At the end of the day when you’re a kid you never imagine winning two championships, winning races, podiums, you can’t imagine. So what I have achieved is already much more than the expectations I had as a child, of my dreams’.
