The Italian journalist points out that Yamal’s agent Jorge Mendes has an agreement in place with Barcelona. The deal could soon be made official, in what could prove to be an important milestone for the club as they look to restructure the squad ahead of the new season.

Yamal has shown immense potential during his time at the club. He notably becoming the youngster ever player to feature for Barcelona after making his debut against Real Betis towards the end of the last season. His explosive speed, coupled with his dribbling skills instantly raised eyebrows.

Now, as Barcelona look to offload Ferran Torres, having someone like Yamal could prove to be critical for coach Xavi.

The 16-year-old has shown great potential so far in his youth career. He could, therefore, become a reliable attacking option for Xavi next season, perhaps as an alternative for Fati, Raphinha or Ousmane Dembele on the flanks.

While Dembele is in talks with Barcelona over a new deal, the future of Torres remains uncertain due to their relatively poor campaign last term. He has been linked with moves away from the club this summer.

Yamal, who has the flair to succeed at Barça, can offer the creative essence in the final third. However, the youngster must prove himself at the highest level first, before he becomes a first-team regular.

For the time being, Yamal will be a part of the first team, but play for Barça Atletic when he is not seeing too much action with the senior team.
