History will thank Justin Marks for being a visionary who tried to open the floodgates of NASCAR to the world. The co-owner of Trackhouse Racing providing a seat to a V8 Supercar champion had surely been a gamble that paid off the dividends. This intuition also provided the perfect impetus to NASCAR, which had prying for diversification in the grid.

Moreover, it seems that the organization is finally able to see the light at the end of the tunnel, as it is slated to welcome Shane Van Gisbergen in a full-time capacity to the Cup Series in the upcoming season. However, the discussions are still in their nascent stage and further information is yet to be apprised by the driver. However, if the discussions finally come to fruition, what would the playoff pictures look like?

Dale Earnhardt Jr sends a strong warning to the experienced Cup Series drivers

With 3x Supercar Championships, in his debut race at Chicago driving under the banner of Project 91, Shane Van Gisbergen had sent the NASCAR world into a frenzy with his racing prowess. However, if the Kiwi does indeed choose to race full-time in NASCAR, he would surely have an edge over the other experienced Cup Series drivers after being absolutely invincible on the street course. His limited oval racing experience will not stand in his way.

Moreover, Dale Jr believes that SVG would be unyielding to the other drivers as he tests the waters of the Cup Series and would seize a playoff berth in his first year of the series. He reinforced his thoughts while speaking to his co-host Mike Davis and addressing the probabilities surrounding the supercar driver. He asserted, “You have a driver coming in, if he comes full-time, you got a guy that’s going into the Playoffs with at least one road course win.”

He added, “He will likely do, due to his oval performance, I don’t know that he places in the top 16 endpoints throughout the regular season. He is going to be one of those drivers out of the backside of the top 16 with a road course win or more that’s going to take off a playoff position.”

Furthermore, if the rumors do hold water, then perhaps an early exit from the V8 racing series is an imminent affair. Van Gisbergen’s team had also expressed the fact they would be ready to release the driver early if required.
