Former United striker Michael Owen believes Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw and Marcus Rashford should all start for England at next summer’s European Championship in Germany.
Maguire has been a mainstay in Gareth Southgate’s plans in recent years and has played a key role at each of the last three major tournaments. Shaw also starred in the last two, scoring in the European Championship final in 2021, while Rashford is still searching for the opportunity to become a Three Lions regular.
Owen, speaking to BoyleSports, who offer the latestEuro 2024 Betting, said:
“I’d go with Harry Maguire, and Luke Shaw in defence., and my front three would have Marcus Rashford on the left. In a big game, you could play with Luke Shaw as a wing-back. I feel like Gareth should experiment with a back-three more. I always thought that formation suited England, even back in my day.”
