Tennis Legend to Visit Clinton in April | Education

CLINTON, N.Y. — A legendary tennis champion will be making a stop at Hamilton College in Clinton. 

On April 18, tennis legend, New York Times bestselling author, and entrepreneur Venus Williams will be the next guest in Hamilton College’s Sacerdote Great Names series. 

This announcement comes after actor Matthew McConaughey had to cancel his talk at the college due to a scheduling conflict. 

“Williams has made a lasting impact on and off the court with her entrepreneurship, advocacy, and fight for equality,” a release from Hamilton College stated. “Formerly ranked No. 1 in the world, she has won seven Grand Slam titles, five Wimbledon championships, and four Olympic gold medals. One of the most accomplished and inspiring women in the history of sports, she has been a steadfast advocate for equal pay, women’s empowerment, and social justice.”

Not only is Williams a New York Times bestselling author with her book “Come to Win,” but she is also the founder of commercial and residential design firm V Starr and a plant-based protein company named Happy Viking.”

Williams’s talk will be at 7:30 p.m. in the Margaret Bundy Scott Field House.

The event is free and open to the public, but tickets are required.
