Former Wahine hoops star Amy Atwell signs WNBA training camp contract

Former University of Hawaii women’s basketball star Amy Atwell is getting her second crack at the WNBA.

Atwell recently signed a training camp contract with the Phoenix Mercury. She most recently suited up for the Perth Lynx of the WNBL in her native Australia, averaging 17.6 points per game, good for second in the league.

Atwell was selected by the Los Angeles Sparks in the 2022 WNBA draft but got waived after appearing in four games.
