ATP Los Cabos Predictions Including Zverev vs Kokkinakis

We are down to eight at ATP Los Cabos, with three of the top four seeds still in the draw. No. 1 seed Alexander Zverev has had a blistering start to 2024 and looks to keep that momentum going in his quarterfinal match against Thanasi Kokkinakis. We at LWOT have the preview and prediction for that match and all other happenings around Los Cabos. But who will advance to the semis?

ATP Los Cabos Quarterfinals Predictions

Stefanos Tsitsipas vs Aleksander Kovacevic

Head-to-Head: first meeting

Stefanos Tsitsipas dropped out of the top ten earlier this month for the first time in over five years. That said, the defending ATP Los Cabos champion began his tournament with a 6-3 6-0 win over Aleksander Vukic. Although Kovacevic is playing some of the best tennis in his career, he does not have the firepower to hang in baseline rallies with the Greek.

Prediction: Tsitsipas in 2

Casper Ruud vs Nuno Borges

Head-to-Head: first meeting

Casper Ruud has played some solid tennis to open his 2024 campaign. He is 7-1 in all competitions this year and dropped just one game in his Round of 16 win over Marcos Giron. Similarly, Nuno Borges had the best Slam result of his career in Melbourne. Although he has not played very well since that result, Borges has proven he has the versatility and consistency to keep him with some of the world’s best. This should be a back-and-forth baseline encounter, but I give the slight edge to the No. 4 seed.

Prediction: Ruud in 3

Jordan Thompson vs Alex Michelsen

Head-to-Head: Thompson 1-0 Michelsen

Jordan Thompson and Alex Michelsen squared off nearly one year ago in the Rome Challenger final. Fast forward to today, and they are battling for a spot in the ATP Los Cabos semifinals. Michelsen is coming off the best win of his career, a 6-4 6-1 beatdown of Alex de Minaur. The 19-year-old American has very few holes in his game and should continue to climb the rankings. Thompson has won exactly two matches in each event he has played over the last three weeks. I think that happens once again in Los Cabos.

Prediction: Michelsen in 2

Alexander Zverev vs Thanasi Kokkinakis

Head-to-Head: Zverev 1-0 Kokkinakis

Alexander Zverev has played some terrific tennis to start the year. He was one set away from reaching the final in Melbourne but seemingly put that behind him as he dominated Yoshihito Nishioka in his first match back. Thanasi Kokkinakis had a tough start to the year but is starting to pick up some momentum in the North American swing. That said, Zverev is just too tough from the baseline to have any problems in this match.

Prediction: Zverev in 2
