The GASGAS Factory Racing Tech3 will continue to showcase some of the best and brightest Spanish talents in MotoGP, with Augusto Fernandez and Pedro Acosta joining the championship in 2024 with the GASGAS RC16.

The current Moto2 World Champion and notable MotoGP rookie of 2023, Augusto Fernandez, will remain with the GASGAS Factory Racing Tech3 team for his second year at the highest level. The 26-year-old Majorcan has caught attention with point-scoring performances in all 14 Grand Prix races this season, except for two, and achieved a 4th place in the French GP. In Japan last weekend, he secured his second best finish with a 7th place in the challenging rainy conditions at Motegi. Augusto has shown potential and maturity while making progress in adapting to the 2023 GASGAS RC16. He will be joined by the man who could be the next Moto2 gold medalist.

Pedro Acosta is only in his third full season of competition in the world championship, but the prolific 19-year-old has won the Moto3 title (2021), the Moto2 Grand Prix as a rookie (2022), and has secured 11 podiums in 14 rounds this year to lead the standings by over 50 points. Acosta has the ability, skill, and natural talent to join the MotoGP grid and complete a remarkable journey through the company’s talent structure, from being the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup Champion in 2020 to being a premier class rider in 2024.

The GASGAS Factory Racing Tech3 rider, Pol Espargaró, will occupy a crucial and highly valuable position for the Pierer Mobility Motorsport project next year. The 32-year-old rider was part of this joint decision for the short and long-term future goals of the company’s MotoGP objectives. Pol is highly valued for his dedication and experience; from the early days of the Pierer Mobility Group’s entry into MotoGP to his dedicated attempt to return to competitiveness after the injury suffered in early 2023. The #44 is an important asset to support talented young athletes and maintain the strength of the current racing team, and his humility is evidenced by his willingness to help the next generation looking to follow in his footsteps. Pol’s character, energy, and capabilities mean he will continue to be a prominent member of the MotoGP program on both sides of the garages.

Pit Beirer, Director of GASGAS Motorsports said in a statement: ‘We had to make an important and difficult decision for our GASGAS team for 2024. Augusto has taken impressive first steps in MotoGP and we are fully convinced that he has the speed and intelligence to continue progressing. Pedro is a very special talent who has already won so much, so quickly and 2024 will be for him to learn to take the next step with the MotoGP greats.
