Donald Trump Golf Course At Epicenter Of NY/NJ Earthquake That Had Everyone

Donald Trump has a way for being the center of attention of anything he’s involved in. But today, he was at the epicenter of the Ney York earthquake news (pun intended) completely by accident.

A 4.8 magnitude earthquake struck Northern New Jersey, with the aftershocks felt as far north in the U.S. as Maine and as far south as Baltimore, MD. According to the U.S. Geological Survey the earthquake began near Whitehouse Station, NJ, at roughly 10:23 a.m. Thankfully, there are no reports of mass casualties or damage.

While roughly 42 million people reportedly felt the effects of the earthquake, Trump might feel the effects of the tremors in a different way.

The Trump National Golf Club Bedminster resides 6.5 miles from the town where the earthquake struck. Newsweek reached out and asked if the course sustained any damage, but did not receive any comment.

This is no ordinary course either. In 2017, it received the nickname “The Summer White House” due to his numerous visits there during his presidency. He has also not published anything regarding the course on Truth Social.

Social Media Had Plenty Of Reactions For The Earthquake

Trump may be hesitant to talk about his experience with the earthquake, but most other people aren’t.

A New York Mets fan named Dylan Hornik saw the juxtaposition of the earthquake with the Mets’ season. After the Mets won their first game of the year yesterday, Hornik thought that the earthquake was a sign that someone was trying to prevent his team from being successful.

Another hilariously commented that he and everyone else in the area didn’t know how to react to the earthquake, since they don’t happen all that often on the East Coast.

But perhaps the best reaction came from a musician named Jared Demel, who was live videoing himself practicing a song when the earthquake hit. Right in the middle of a chorus, his whole house shook, and he reacted in a way most Americans probably did.

Experts have predicted that there is a 46 percent chance that a 3.0 magnitude or higher earthquake could strike within the next week. If that’s the case, I’m sure we’ll have plenty of other similar reactions to these. Hopefully no people (or golf courses) are hurt in a potential Round 2.
