COLUMBUS, Ohio — Jake Diebler has managed to have a pretty explosive first offseason as Ohio State basketball’s head coach and he continued adding to that over the weekend.

For the second time, the Buckeyes have managed to bring in a former five-star recruit by way of the transfer portal to add to a roster shaping up to potentially be one of the Big Ten’s best. The first was former Kentucky center Aaron Bradshaw, now former Duke former Sean Stewart is joining him.

Latest Ohio State Buckeyes news

Stewart was the No. 17 player and No. 5 power forward in the 2023 class originally part of a four-man class for the Blue Devils tat ranked second nationally where each was a five-star recruit. Despite being the second-highest-rated player of the group, Stewart’s production and playing time were limited averaging just 2.6 points and 3.2 rebounds in 8.4 minutes per game.

The lack of opportunity has led to a change in scenery as OSU’s fourth transfer portal addition. He joins Bradshaw, former San Diego State forward Micah Parrish and former South Carolina guard Meechie Johnson Jr.

The Experience

Ohio State’s social media team has made it a tradition during the Ryan Day era to follow around its former players who are considered locks to be first-round picks in the NFL Draft. That often comes with documenting their journey leading up to the event with behind-the-scenes looks at the combine, Pro Day and a few other things along the way.

Marvin Harrison Jr. made that nearly impossible thanks to the way he chose to handle things. He opted out of workouts and media interviews at the NFL Combine. He also didn’t work out at the Buckeyes’ Pro Day weeks later. The actual NFL Draft was the first time there was content worth documenting as the wide receiver went No. 4 to the Cardinals as the first non-quarterback off the board.

OSU was in the building to watch as its fourth-straight wide receiver turned into a first-round draft pick. Check out the behind-the-scenes footage below:
