NASCAR to bring back ‘Honor and Remember’ Goodyear tires for Coca-Cola 600 at

All of the Goodyear tires used in this Sunday’s Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway will have “Honor and Remember” lettering on them to honor fallen heroes ahead of Memorial Day, according to Steve Post.

Honor and Remember is a national organization based out of Virginia whose mission is “to perpetually recognize the sacrifice of America’s military fallen service members and their families. The organization pays tribute to all military lives lost, not only while serving on active duty but also as a result of serving. Military deaths in all wars or conflicts and all branches of service from our nation’s inception are recognized,” its website states.

NASCAR and Goodyear have changed the branding on the tires one weekend per season dating back to 2010. NASCAR began working with Honor and Remember in 2019.

“In conjunction with NASCAR Salutes, the sanctioning body has announced a new NASCAR Impact partnership with Honor and Remember to continue recognizing fallen service members and the sacrifices of their families,” NASCAR said in a press release Tuesday. “For more than a decade, Honor and Remember has collaborated with the NASCAR industry to host Gold Star Families at race weekends and display the organization’s dedicated symbol of remembrance – the Honor and Remember Flag – at race tracks across the country, including Charlotte Motor Speedway.”

NASCAR honoring fallen veterans in big way at Charlotte

The special tires are just one of many ways NASCAR is using this weekend at Charlotte to honor fallen veterans. NASCAR will formally honor and recognize the United States Armed Forces through its annual NASCAR Salutes Together with Coca-Cola program, the sanctioning body announced. Each car taking part in the Coca-Cola 600 will have the name of a fallen service member on the windshield. NASCAR and Coca-Cola are also hosting many Gold Star families at the race.

“NASCAR has always displayed a deep-seated appreciation for our nation’s service members throughout its 76-year history, and we’re proud to continue partnering with Coca-Cola and our entire industry to express our gratitude for the incredible sacrifices those individuals and their families make on behalf of all Americans,” said Pete Jung, NASCAR senior vice president and chief marketing officer.
