Doron Lamb is not up for La Familia’s run to a TBT championship. Neither are Marquis Teague or Reid Travis, unfortunately.
After previously signing up for Kentucky‘s star-studded alumni roster in The Basketball Tournament, that trio of former Wildcats will not be able to suit up in blue and white. La Familia announced Thursday afternoon that Lamb, Teague and Travis have “unforeseen professional obligations” forcing them to miss the event in Lexington and beyond.
“The rest of our roster is excited and ready to go,” La Familia wrote on social media. “We wish these guys the best!”
Teague is currently participating in the BIG3 while Travis is playing with Levanga Hokkaido of Japan’s B.League and Lamb is suiting up for UEB Gesteco Cividale of Italy’s Serie A2.
Elsewhere, Brennan Canada was announced as a new addition to the roster early Thursday morning while Kerem Kanter — brother of Enes — was added on Wednesday.
“I’m not done just yet,” Canada said. “I’m excited to be joining team La Familia for TBT. Let’s go!”
“I will be playing with your team, La Familia, in this year’s TBT,” Kanter added. “As you guys know, my brother Enes was ruled ineligible and never got to play. So this year, I’ll be wearing the blue and white in honor of him. I’m excited to play with such a talented group for the fans and for the school. We’re gonna make you proud.”
With Lamb, Teague and Travis out and Canada and Kanter in, let’s take a look at the final roster ahead of next week’s debut for La Familia:
