No. 13 Auburn (5-0) got its offense going in high gear on Tuesday to advance to the championship game of the Cancun Challenge’s Riviera Bracket. On Wednesday, the Tigers take on unbeaten Northwestern (5-0) in the championship game at the Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya in Cancun, Mexico. Bruce Pearl has coached at Auburn since 2014 and is 171-98 in his ninth season. The Tigers reached the NCAA tournament last year after being ineligible in 2021. Chris Collins is in his 10th season at Northwestern and is 138-150 in that span, but the Wildcats haven’t finished better than .500 since claiming the program’s first NCAA tourney bid in 2017.

Auburn shot 56.4% from the floor while dismantling Bradley in Tuesday’s semifinal, 85-64.
The Tigers outscored the Braves 46-26 in the paint and never trailed in the game. Wendell Green Jr. contributed 14 points and six assists while Johni Broome had 14 points, nine rebounds and three blocks.
The Wildcats fell behind Liberty by 12 with 5:40 to go in the first half but took over the game with a 14-0 run in the second half to cruise to a 66-52 win. Chase Audige scored 20 points with five assists and Ty Berry added 19 points and four steals.
This will be the first meeting for Auburn and Northwestern.
