Antonio Nusa, Gallagher, Hojbjerg and how the rest of Tottenham’s transfer

There are now just 10 days left of the January transfer window so what lies ahead in that remaining week and a half for Tottenham Hotspur?

Spurs have been one of the busiest sides this month, securing Ange Postecoglou’s main targets and being able to work with less restrictions from the new tougher financial fair play regulations than a number of their competitors in the market. The north London club have also removed a large swathe of players from the Australian’s squad at a time when Postecoglou has a number of stars coming back from injury and in a couple of weeks those returning from international duty.

So what else is there left for Tottenham to do in this window, or more likely who is realistically available to leave their clubs mid-season or depart from N17? Let’s look at both potential incomings and outgoings.

Incomings

Spurs have already moved swiftly in the window to get two important players for Postecoglou through the door in the shape of 27-year-old Timo Werner, on loan from RB Leipzig with a £15.5million option to buy, and 21-year-old Romanian centre-back Radu Dragusin on a permanent deal from Genoa.

Spurs’ London rivals are having financial fair play issues and the 23-year-old, due to his homegrown status and the pure profit such a sale shows on the books, has long been earmarked as a potential departure from the Blues.

However, the likelihood of his exit has grown more and more problematic as this month has gone on, with Mauricio Pochettino not keen to lose a player who has been his captain for many of his 26 appearances this season. The perceived look for Chelsea to lose the player to Tottenham could also be seen as a turning point in the two club’s paths in recent years.

Gallagher, who went on a run of four assists in five matches for Chelsea from October into November, fits Postecoglou’s No.8 mould well with his box-to-box style. Spurs have also been linked in the Italian media with scouting Atalanta’s 24-year-old Brazilian midfielder Ederson. More of a defensive midfielder, Ederson has still scored five goals and provided one assist in 20 Serie A appearances this season.

Tottenham have also scouted Belgian youngster Arthur Vermeeren, who has been making a name for himself with Royal Antwerp as a…
