The final day of the transfer window is upon us and there is work still to be done.

Arsenal have yet to make a signing this month and are running out of time to do so. Meanwhile, the Gunners have seen Marquinhos return from Nantes, Omar Rekik from Wigan, and recalled Mika Biereth from Motherwell before heading on loan to Sturm Graz in the Austrian Bundesliga.

Alex Kirk and Kido Taylor Hart both joined Bromley on loan this month but there has been little action around the first team. Something Mikel Arteta appears to have accepted.

“We have one of the thinnest squads in the League, that’s for sure, and when you talk about the numbers, especially in certain areas, we are really thin,” he said ahead of the club’s win over Nottingham Forest.

Rumours of interest from Barcelona have already emerged with Jorginho’s contract set to expire at the end of the season but the Gunners hold an option for a further year.

Auston Trusty

A chance at Arsenal never arrived however with the American then moving to Sheffield United in 2023. The US international joined the Blades on a four-year deal and is believed to have earned the Gunners in the region of £5m.

Cedric Soares

The Portugal international looks like he could soon be departing Arsenal for pastures new but in 2020 joined the Gunners on loan from Southampton. Injuries to Calum Chambers and Hector Bellerin prompted the move with Cedric’s Saints contract expiring in the summer.

The full-back made his stay with Arsenal permanent and has made 61 appearances for the north London side. Last January saw the defender joined Fulham on loan for six months, and now Cedric…
