Olympic Museum – Olympian Artists at Tokyo 2020

The Olympic Agora Tokyo 2020 programme included a group exhibition of works by five Olympians and one Paralympian. The exhibition paid tribute to the Japanese art of noren, traditional curtain-like fabric panels hung at the entrance to shops and stalls.

Each artist created a series of “curtains” on the theme of Tokyo, Japan, and the Olympic spirit and values, using their preferred medium of artistic expression: photography, painting, graffiti or graphic design.

The Noren Curtains exhibition was held at the busy Mitsukoshi-mae underground station in the heart of Tokyo. It was open and accessible to all, offering an Olympic cultural experience to residents of the host city and digital audiences worldwide.
