Manchester United youngster Kobbie Mainoo is winning plaudits across the football world with his Euro 2024 heroics.
Kobbie Mainoo is leaving many pundits astounded with his seamless transition to international football.
For his Manchester United teammates, Kobbie Mainoo’s heroics are an immense source of pride – and absolutely no surprise.
Alejandro Garnacho reached out to congratulate ‘main man’ Kobbie Mainoo after England reached the Euro 2024 final. Now Bruno Fernandes has expressed his admiration too.
While Garnacho is over at the Copa America, Bruno Fernandes was playing at Euro 2024. Portugal’s dream came crashing to a halt after their indulgence in Cristiano Ronaldo went too far and they slipped out to France on penalties.
Fernandes broke his post-tournament silence on social media with a message to Donny van de Beek this week.
Now he has reacted to Kobbie Mainoo’s post-semi-final message, where the midfield wonderkid wrote: “1 more” in reference to the upcoming final.
Fernandes showed how proud he is of the teenager, writing “My kid”.
Kobbie Mainoo is now heading to a second final in three months. It comes after he scored the winner in the Manchester derby at Wembley.
Mainoo’s winner was set up by Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes – he will have to find an England teammate to play that role on Sunday. But you wouldn’t it out.
The game pits Mainoo up against Rodri again. Manchester United fans are backing Mainoo to end Rodri’s unbeaten run for his country, just like he did for his club.
