Leadership Change at Tenpin Bowling Australia

Tenpin Bowling Australia (TBA) announces a significant leadership transition within its Board of Directors. Hish Fernando, who has served as Chairman since 2023, has decided to step down from his role effective immediately. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Hish for his leadership and numerous contributions to Tenpin Bowling Australia.

Appointed to the Board in 2019, Hish brought valuable insights from his corporate and business background. He provided exemplary leadership as Chair of the Governance Committee for TBA and the Technology and Digital Transformation Advisory Board.

Hish was appointed Chair of TBA in June 2023 following the organisation’s Annual General Meeting. During his tenure, he played a pivotal role in steering the organisation through various initiatives and transformations. TBA is immensely grateful for his dedication and the lasting impact he has made.

Following Hish’s resignation, we are pleased to announce that current Board Director, Graham Pearson, will step into the role of Chair of Tenpin Bowling Australia. Graham is well known for his work and involvement in the sport in Victoria. He played a crucial role in the successful merger of the two Melbourne-based Tenpin Bowling Associations and their re-affiliation with Tenpin Bowling Australia. Having served over ten years on the Victorian TBA board, Graham was elected to the national board at the 2022 Annual General Meeting.

In addition to his extensive experience in tenpin bowling, Graham has worked for over a decade with the Endeavour Foundation, focusing on Commercial Customer Service and site management to support people with intellectual disabilities. His commitment to inclusivity and community service aligns perfectly with TBA’s values.

A passionate bowler himself, Graham has been involved in the sport throughout his life and is excited to lead the organisation into this new chapter. “I am thrilled to take on this role and look forward to continuing the growth and success of tenpin bowling in Australia,” said Graham.

This leadership transition marks a new era for Tenpin Bowling Australia. We are confident that under Graham Pearson’s guidance, TBA will continue to thrive and achieve new milestones.
