The Nyanza region Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) games kicked off on March 19, 2024 and ends today in Kisumu.
In girls’ handball on the the first day, Miranga Mixed beat Nyamira Girls 24-20, as St Alberts Ulanda Girls defeated Ndonyo Mixed 30-24. On the second day, Ikonge lost to Guu 19-39, Nyakach Girls beat Asumbi Girls 24-20 as Guu Mixed and Miranga Mixed settled for a draw.
Nyamira won 40-12 against Ikonge Girls, Asumbi lost to Ulanda Girls 31-33 as Ndonyo fell to Nyakach 27-33.
In the third and final day, Nyamira beat Guu 30-24, Ndonyo lost to Asumbi Girls 19-22 as Ulanda were defeated by Nyakach Girls 27-28.

In the boys’ handball, on day one Manyatta Boys beat Yala High clashed at 35-34 as Mbita High defeated Kanyamedha Mixed 20-19.
On day two St Stephens Menara Boys fell to Ndonyo 28:29, Ikonge lost to Kanyawanga Boys 14-25. Ndonyo Mixed lost to Manyatta 30-35, Yala Boys settled for a 34:34 against Menara as Kanyagwanga defeated Mbita 30-20.
On third day, Yala beat Ndonyo 38-28, Manyatta defeated Menera 32-26, and Kanyamedha lost to Kanyawanga 19-30 as Mbita Boys beat Ikonge 28-24.
In semis, Ulanda Girls won 29-22 against Miranga as Nyakach Girls emerged winners 23-22 against Nyamira Girls.
In the boys’ semis, Manyatta beat Mbita High 31-15 as Kanyawanga defeated Yala Boys at 36-23
The qualified teams will proceed for the Nationals which will be held in Machakos boys and girls on April 6-14, 2024.
