NRL 2020: Melbourne Storm, Josh Addo-Carr contract U-turn, Rabbitohs, Bulldogs,

After it appeared that last Sunday’s grand final win over Penrith would be his last for Melbourne, star winger Josh Addo-Carr could U-turn on his move back to Sydney and stay with the Storm for 2021.
Addo-Carr has a year to run on his current Melbourne deal, but has previously indicated that he wants to return to his native Sydney to be close to family.

“The whole reason why I moved down to the Storm was for my family and myself,” Addo-Carr said in the build-up to the grand final.

“It was a really tough decision, but I feel like I need to move back for my family. It was tough … I lost five family members in the space of two months last year and I’ve lost two family members recently.
“Life is too short. I’ve got two kids now and I want my kids to grow up with their family and make good memories. My parents aren’t getting any younger. I wish the Melbourne Storm were in Sydney, but it’s just not the case. This club will always hold a very special place in my heart.”

The Storm agreed that the Foxx could head back to Sydney, but on the condition that got a like-for-like replacement in return.
So far, no such move has developed for the winger, who will start for NSW in the 2020 series opener against Queensland in Adelaide.

That’s led to a change of heart, with Channel 9 saying that Addo-Carr was open to the possibility of playing for the Storm for one more year.
The winger has attracted interest from the Tigers, Bulldogs and South Sydney, even signing a heads of agreement with Michael Maguire’s side.

However, Channel 9 claim that he will now consider staying at the Storm for one more year as no likely switch has emerged.
It would be a huge boost for Craig Bellamy in his final year as Melbourne coach to keep a player of Addo-Carr’s quality.
Bellamy will likely be without Cameron Smith and Suliasi Vunivalu next season, while rising forward Tino Fa’asuamaleaui will head to the Titans.
