Golfando’s journey to discover the US golf college continues. This time the twenty-year-old Giulio Zanichelli who flew from Parma to San Francisco talks about it. And from there he recounts his days in the field and classrooms.

“Having only started golfing five years ago, college golf is a great opportunity for me to grow, improve and gain more experience. The goal is to confront myself with professionalism. I think college golf is an important stage for every golfer.

Golf was only for the summer, on vacation. True passion was born at the age of 16. In 2018 I made the decision that changed my life: I left football and fell in love with golf. This sport had never given me so many emotions. Over the years the passion has grown more and more, so much so as to aspire to a professional career “
“Organization is one of the most important skills you need to have to be a student-athlete. It was not difficult to get used to American rhythms, I have always been a precise and methodical person. Personally, it helped me to have precise schedules during the day, a constant routine and a physical and mental preparation to allow me to keep up with all the commitments “
“College golf has helped me improve technically and mentally. During this first year I trained daily on the pitch and in the gym. Knowing that I play for a team and for a university pushed me to give my best. Not being alone but supported by teammates and coach reassured me.
Everything helped me to continue with discipline and rigor ”. “I would advise you to carefully evaluate the choices concerning your future by seizing the opportunities that life offers. I would tell them to follow the heart and the strongest passions.
We should take courage and sometimes choose the most difficult path, get out of the comfort zone and have experiences that happen only once in a lifetime. Traveling, learning new languages and a profession are a life project “
“In the opinion of Giulio Zanichelli, American golf courses are better looked after. The biggest difference is the greens, which are often large, fast and undulating. Apart from this, there are various types of camps based on the territory.
My team and I train in a field similar to the Italian ones, narrow and with many trees. At times we also happened to play on wide and less punitive fields ”. “My family has always supported my desire to live this unforgettable experience.
