Reece James back in Chelsea training ahead of Borussia Dortmund Champions League

Chelsea defender Reece James has returned to training ahead of the Champions League last 16 second-leg against Borussia Dortmund.

The England international missed the 1-0 Premier League win over Leeds United on Saturday with a tight hamstring.

But ahead of Tuesday’s game at Stamford Bridge, he took part at Cobham and should be available for selection for Graham Potter.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek operated as a right wing-back in his place against Leeds with captain Cesar Azpilicueta still sidelined after his concussion suffered in the defeat to Southampton last month.

N’Golo Kante and Christian Pulisic — both long-term absentees — also took part in Monday’s session, but Azpilicueta was not involved.

The Blues welcome Dortmund having to overturn a one-goal deficit after losing the first leg in Germany three weeks ago.

Karim Adeyemi scored the only goal of the game.

The win over Leeds was the first in the Premier League since January 15 to ease some pressure on head coach Potter.

They return to domestic action away at Leicester City on Saturday.
