TAMPA, Fla. — Offering advice as if he were talking one big man to another, the Yankees’ towering MVP Aaron Judge said a huge benefit to playing baseball at 6-foot-6 or taller, as Cardinals’ prospect Jordan Walker does, is the measurement they can overlook.

Other hitters fixate on the baseball’s speed off the bat.

Judge lets his frame take care of that.

“Somebody with our size — we don’t have to focus too much on exit velo,” Judge said after taking batting practice Wednesday at Steinbrenner Field. “You just touch the ball and things are going to happen. That’s where you can focus on other things than trying to hit the ball as hard as you can. Focus on having a good swing, making good contact, and let your body and your mechanics do the rest.”
