Kia MVP Tracker: Latest performances from leading contenders

The Kia NBA MVP chase is going down to the wire. With multiple players still in the mix for the award, keep track of the most recent performances from the top candidates before the next Kia MVP Ladder update from senior NBA writer Michael C. Wright on Friday.

Nikola Jokic
Latest MVP Ladder ranking: No. 1

Nikola Jokic logs his 29th triple-double of the season in Denver’s victory over Philadelphia.

Latest performance: Jokic sat out Friday’s game against the Phoenix Suns with right calf tightness. Prior to that, the league leader in triple-doubles added another box score stuffer to his 2022-23 season, amassing 25 points, 17 rebounds and 12 assists in Denver’s 116-111 victory over Philadelphia. The Nuggets (51-24) had to fend off a depleted and bench-heavy comeback bid by the 76ers in the fourth quarter, but Jokic’s individual performance withstood the scrutiny of top teams, if not players due to Joel Embiid’s injured absence.

Latest performance: Antetokounmpo scored 24 points in just 25 minutes Thursday night. Three games in four nights, including a back-to-back culminating in the Celtics rout, no doubt played a role, yet it was startling to see Milwaukee so thoroughly outplayed.
