Streamer buys Maple Leafs fans playoff tickets
Cody Burnett is being exposed as a friend to Toronto Maple Leafs fans.

The streamer, who is known by the social media handle “Xposed,” has been purchasing playoff tickets for Maple Leafs fans who cannot afford to attend the games.
“I got into this good spot financially and I know how expensive these games are,” Burnett said. “Just seeing random people online, I can see the passion. If I can do something to help somebody, I would always do that.”
Burnett does not have a set process when picking fans off social media. He looks for anyone that stands out or could use a break.
“The other night I saw somebody in Toronto Maple Leafs Square and he looked like he was cold, so I picked him and I gave him two tickets,” Burnett said. “It was a rainy day, I wish I could have helped everyone in there, but unfortunately [I could] not.”
Sometimes he lets his fiancé, Shania, or his three-year-old son, Linkin, pick out a fan.
So far, Burnett estimates he has given 35 to 40 tickets, totaling up to over $30,000.
“Ticketmaster probably thinks I’m doing something funny at this point,” Burnett said.
Burnett is all too familiar with the struggle of securing Maple Leafs playoffs tickets. In 2018, he was scammed when trying to buy cheap tickets to Toronto’s first-round matchup against the Boston Bruins.
Now, in a better place financially, Burnett is a proud Maple Leafs season ticket holder and enjoying watching the team’s success.
“I felt like I won the Stanley Cup when they won that round one,” Burnett, who was in fourth grade the last time Toronto won a playoff series, said. “The first series meant a lot. I’ve had a lot of heartbreak over this team and a lot of joy as well… they have been so exciting for awhile and just to see them move on is incredible. I really hope they can keep going.”
He is hopeful the Maple Leafs can come back from being down 0-2 in the Eastern Conference Second Round against the Florida Panthers.
Burnett will be in Florida to watch the Maple Leafs in Game 3 on Sunday where he plans to give away a few more pairs of tickets.
