Mexican boxer Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez is taking some time away from boxing after his recent victory over John Ryder, and he has been enjoying time on the golf course.

The fight against Ryder was won on May 6 and it is no secret that his other great sporting love is golf.

“There’s no greater moment than this” – Canelo Alvarez, on defending his titles against John Ryder

He has actually been hosting a tournament called ‘No Golf No Life’ at the Bosque Real Country Club.

During the tournament, Canelo was interrupted by some construction workers who wanted to take pictures with him. Showing his humble side, Canelo obliged.

About 10 construction workers posed for the photo with the undisputed super middleweight champion who, after the gesture, continued with his golf game.

The video of the photo moment was shared by TV Azteca journalist Ashley Gonzalez on social media.

Will Canelo Alvarez fight Conor McGregor?

Golf may be more relaxing for Canelo right now but the boxing world is still in full flow and Conor McGregor recently started publicly criticizing the Mexican, saying he could fight him.

“I’m a southpaw, Ryder was a southpaw, Billie Joe [Saunders] was a southpaw,” McGregor said.

“I’ve seen methods, I’ve seen things I’d do and I know he’s waning.

“I’d fight Canelo no f**king problem. No problem.

“By year end, I’m back in that cage having competed. I’m gearing up now, ready to go.

“The fight against Michael Chandler, it will be announced during The Ultimate Fighter.

“The Ultimate Fighter is airing in a couple of days on ESPN and, by the time that show finishes, we’ll have a date and it will be set for the fans.”
