LPGA sensation Rose Zhang hits the coolest trick shot you’ll ever see at Pebble

Rose Zhang just keeps getting better and better.

The 20-year-old had already had the honor of being the number one female amateur golfer for 141 consecutive weeks, a standing that took in the US Women’s Amateur, US Girls Junior, individual NCAA Championship and low amateur at the 2020 ANA Inspiration and 2022 Women’s British Open.

If that wasn’t enough, one week after turning professional, the former Stanford student became the first LPGA player to win on pro debut since 1951, beating 2022 Chevron Championship winner Jennifer Kupcho in a play-off.

Following that victory at the Mizuho Americas Open, Zhang took in the Women’s PGA Championship at Baltusrol, where, after being within one at the turn, she finished a closing 8th, three shots behind champion Ruoning Lin.

Now, Zhang and her army of fans are ready to take on Pebble Beach for the US Women’s Open, an elite event for which the oddsmakers remarkably make her favorite, ahead of Jin Young Ko, Leona Maguire and Atthaya Thitikul.

Just to remind us all how good she is, Zhang, who holds the women’s course record at nine-under 63 from a round at the Carmel Cup, revisited the par-3 7th, one of her birdie holes from that record day.

Not only did she hit her tee shot to six feet, but look what happens to the tee peg!

The tee goes straight up, and settles in her back pocket, right on the yardage book!

Is it trickery? Sorcery? Illusion, or skill?

Either way, the Rose Zhang hype just got bigger.
