We are nearing the point in the offseason where recruiting news takes center stage and Michigan State basketball fans have a lot to look forward to in the coming years.

Tom Izzo just landed the No. 4 recruiting class in the country for 2023 and he’s building a potential top-10 group for 2024. The 2025 class is also shaping up to be a potentially special one with Izzo adding to his bid board on the recruiting trail.

We’ve heard about him reaching out to nine of the top 50 recruits in the class of 2025 and there are more names filtering in as weeks pass.

In fact, according to Hitmen Hoops Scouting, the Spartans are prioritizing four-star center Francis Chukwudebelu from Oak Hill Academy.

The four-star center has mentioned Arkansas, Ole Miss, LSU, Kansas, and Michigan State as the teams contacting him the most.

On 247Sports, Kansas and Michigan State are the only “warm” teams in terms of interest level.

Michigan State basketball continues to add to its board

With the revelation of the Spartans being one of the most interested teams in Chukwudebelu, they have one of the most interesting and expansive boards in the country for 2025.

Chukwudebelu is ranked the No. 87 overall recruit and 12th-best center in the class, according to the composite.

He now joins a list of targets that includes:

  • Koa Peat (No. 4)
  • Jalen Haralson (No. 10)
  • Darius Acuff (No. 11)
  • Trey McKenney (No. 17)
  • Jerry Easter (No. 41)
  • Alex Lloyd (No. 49)
  • Jeremiah Fears (No. 51)
  • Trent Sisley (No. 57)
  • Kai Rogers (No. 70)
  • Jordan Scott (No. 82)

Nearly a dozen of the top 85 targets in the nation are high on Michigan State, and vice versa.

You just love to see Izzo putting in the work to make sure that national title No. 2 happens sooner rather than later.
