Man found dead after attending LIV Golf tournament at The Greenbrier

UPDATE: Monday, August 7, 2023 @ 4:12 PM | LEWISBURG, WV (WVNS) — Jarred Schultz, the man who was reported missing after attending The Greenbrier’s LIV Golf event this past weekend was reportedly found dead.

According to a Facebook post from the Lewisburg Police Department, a dead body believed to Schultz’s was found in a wooded area near I-64 and 219 in Lewisburg at 12:36 PM on August 7, 2023.


No foul play is suspected at this time.

The Lewisburg Police Department extended their deepest condolences to Schultz’s loved ones.


LEWISBURG, WV (WVNS) — A man from the Barboursville area was reported missing by the Lewisburg Police Department after he allegedly attended the LIV Golf Tournament at The Greenbrier.

According to a Facebook post from the Lewisburg Police Department, Jarred David Shultz, 39, of Barboursville, was last seen on August 5, 2023, at 11:40 PM. This was in the Coleman Drive area within Lewisburg city limits.

A Facebook post from Schultz’s wife stated he had been attending the multi-day LIV Golf Tournament at The Greenbrier.

The West Virginia Division of Natural Resources, WV State Police, WV Division of Corrections, Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Office and Lewisburg Fire Department are reportedly working with the police department in the investigation. Phone pings, thermal imaging, a blood hound, and drones are being utilized in the search.

No foul play is suspected at this time.
