Enhanced Box Score: Blue Jays 11, Cubs 4 – August 13, 2023

It was a date day for me and The Wife (belated anniversary celebration – who doesn’t want to go see ‘Oppenheimer’ for their anniversary? I definitely did!), so I caught only the first inning of today’s Cubs-Blue Jays game. Which means I got to see the Cubs up 2-0, and then none of the horror that followed.

I suppose it was about time for a Jameson Taillon clunker after a long stretch of dominance. Hopefully it’s just a throw-it-away-and-reset situation. Cubs still took the series, obviously, which is great, but the evil power of trying to pull of a sweep on a Sunday is just too dang strong.
