Smoke weed and box at Mike Tyson’s Weed Boxing Championship

Former heavyweight boxing champ and cannabis advocate Mike Tyson is launching Thailand’s first “Weed Boxing Championship” on the island of Koh Samui this Sunday.

Participants competing at the event, which will take place at the Samui International Muay Thai Stadium, are required to get stoned before the fights. Each match will consist of three rounds running three minutes each.

Spectators are also encouraged to smoke weed. There will be food and drinks at the event, should you get the munchies.

The championship is an effort to boost Thailand’s continued weed tourism. Despite being a stoner himself, Tyson said he will not be participating in the competition, so don’t expect to punch out the champion himself.

With marijuana becoming decriminalized in Thailand in June last year, a huge amount of dispensaries and weed-related events have sprung up all over the country in what many dub the Green Rush.
