French Rugby Star Danty Out of Opening World Cup Opener Due to Injury

La Rochelle and France star centre Jonathan Danty is reported to be the latest French player set to have his World Cup disrupted by injury.

According to reports in multiple French publications, the centre has an issue with his hamstring that will keep him out of the September 8th clash.

In positive news, the injury is not believed to be serious enough to rule the 30-year-old out of the tournament. He is, however, set to miss two weeks, which could see him miss France’s second match of the tournament against Uruguay.

The 23-times capped Danty has become a staple in the French midfield and will be sorely missed against the All Blacks.

Fortunately for the hosts, they possess two ready replacements in Bordeaux star Yoram Moefana and 23-year-old Montpellier player Arthur Vincent.
