Analyzing top 6 teams for 4-star F Brody Kozlowski

Brody Kozlowski is one of the top NCAA Basketball from the state of Utah. Which programs are in the running to land the 6’7 forward?

A month ago, Brody Kozlowski announced a top-six list of team options he was considering. They’re all from the West Coast, which makes sense for the Draper, Utah native. He’s viewed as a four-star prospect overall, listed at 6’7 and around 200 pounds. What he lacks in height as a natural power forward, he makes up for in both skill and quality rebounding and physicality.

As visits are underway, here’s a closer look at how Kozlowski would fit with each of the contenders when it comes to the respective rosters going forward.

BYU Cougars

With Utah not in the mix, BYU represents the “hometown” option for Kozlowski. Plus, there are some family ties to the school as well for the prospect. With the late pickup of top-100 wing Marcus Adams and four-star forward commit Issac Davis on the roster, the Cougars future frontcourt looks strong. But with Foussenyi Traore and Charlotte transfer Aly Khalifa having two years left, Kozlowski would have to be okay with not playing much in year 1.

Cal Bears

New HC Mark Madsen has added a lot of talented transfers in an effort to get Cal back to being competitive. That includes former Texas Tech combo forward, Jaylon Tyson. Since Madsen has ties to Utah as well (former UVU HC), Kozlowski going there could work out. The biggest question is whether or not forward ND Okafor and Grant Newell will be part of the frontcourt rotation since they could cause a future logjam.

Nevada Wolf Pack

After losing freshman star Darrion Williams to the portal, Nevada could use a forward with similar skillsets like Kozlowski. With KJ Hymes entering his senior season, the power forward spot could be his to take early. He could be a big-time player in the Mountain West and have a larger role than he might at the other options here.

San Diego State Aztecs

Without Keshad Johnson around, the depth for the Aztecs at forward includes Campbell transfer Jay Pal, Elijah Saunders, and Micah Parrish. So Kozlowski, who would be a natural fit for the reigning Final Four program, could get some minutes as well. It would be interesting to see him pick a rival to BYU but there are definitely some appealing selling points here.

UCLA Bruins

There’s a lot of newcomers to the Bruins’ roster, including top-100 forwards, Devin Williams and Brandon Williams. There’s also international forward Berke Buyuktuncel in the mix as well. Without knowing how the group looks, there definitely could be a logjam for Kozlowski to deal with but his style of play is a nice fit for Coach Mick Cronin.

USC Trojans

The Trojans are going to lose DJ Rodman after next season but there’s already some depth in the frontcourt. Four-star forwards Brandon Gardner and Arrinten Page join the team, along with former five-star prospect, Kijani Wright.

With both Boogie Ellis and Isaiah Collier likely gone as well, there’s going to be a lot…
