A man who has proven himself to be a great entertainer and athletically gifted, but equally divisive, ruthless and calculated: Deion Sanders.

He is the only man to have played in a World Series and a Super Bowl, which he won twice with the Dallas Cowboys and the San Francisco 49ers.

Sanders is also considered one of, if not the greatest cornerback in NFL history for his exploits where he was the 1994 Defensive Player of the Year and a six-time first team All-Pro.

As a result of his success, he earned the nicknames “Neon Deion” and “Prime Time”, which has now turned into “Coach Prime.”

Sanders was also never afraid to show his personality off the field, donning custom-made suits and plenty of jewellery.

However, Sanders’ disruptive and controversial methods of rebuilding the program have brought out several detractors from across the college football landscape.

HOW LONG-TERM PAIN LED TO NFL ICON’S SHOCK ARRIVAL

It seems like a lifetime ago the Buffs were a relevant name in the college football landscape.

They won a national championship as recently as 1990 under Bill McCartney and enjoyed a number of bowl game appearances under Gary Barnett in the early 2000s.

However, Barnett’s tenure was riddled with scandals, including one where he branded female place-kicker Katie Hnida a “horrible kicker” amid allegations she was raped during her time at the university.

Barnett was eventually forced to resign in 2005, but his final year with the Buffs would prove to be the last winning season for a considerable amount of time.

That drought ended in 2016 during Mike MacIntyre’s…
